Cranberry Kitchen Contest Information

A crown awaits the cook with the cranberry touch. Bring your culinary skills and whip up your best cranberry concoction to enter the Cranberry Kitchen contest at Bandon’s annual Cranberry Festival. The cooking contest is almost as old as the Cranberry Festival-it was added the second year of the festival, in 1948.

Contestants of all ages may enter in any of the seven categories shown below.

All entries must include a cranberry product and no entries can be items that are sold or marketed commercially. Categories are: appetizers, side dishes, main dishes, desserts, beverages, baked goods, and other items (e.g., condiments, relishes, preserves, spreads, sauces/salsas).

First, second, and third place ribbons are awarded and the overall winner is crowned Queen or King of the Kitchen.

The blind judging system has delivered a few surprises over the years. One gentleman has earned the title King of the Kitchen and everyone would like to see more Kings in the competition. The youngest Queen earned her crown at age 12. The 2014 Queen won with a sip, instead of a nibble, with her mulled cranberry-blackberry wine.

The Bandon Cranberry Festival is organized by the Bandon Chamber of Commerce with support from member businesses and festival sponsors.
