Thank you for considering hosting a ribbon cutting or after hours event with the Bandon Chamber of Commerce! We look forward to helping you make a positively memorable impression with your customers and fellow chamber members.
Please refer to the information below to learn about your role in planning your event and what you can expect from the chamber.
Business events are typically scheduled weekday evenings. Please note that the chamber is not available to assist with ribbon cuttings or after hours events the first three weeks of September, (just before and after Cranberry Festival); or through the winter holidays, Thanksgiving weekend through New Year.
Ribbon Cutting Event
Ribbon cuttings are a terrific way to highlight grand openings, remodels or expansions, milestone anniversaries, a move, new partnership or management, rebranding or any other reason you have to celebrate your business success.
Ribbon cuttings are scheduled Monday through Friday. Events start at 5:30 p.m., with welcome remarks by the chamber director and a representative from your business at 5:45 p.m., followed by the ribbon cutting and photo. Please consult with the chamber director if you require an alternate day or time.
What to Expect from the Bandon Chamber
We’ll provide
• the ribbon, scissors and props needed to stage a photo op,
• invitations to the Bandon Chamber Board of Directors,
• invitations to the Bandon City Council and other appropriate elected representatives or public officials,
• invitations to local news and entertainment media reps,
• promotion through our print and electronic newsletters, event calendar and Coffee Break advertising,
• guidance for member responsibilities.
What the Chamber Expects from the Business Host
You’ll provide
• the space for the event, and
• welcome remarks by an owner, manager or board member.
Additional Host Options
Send personal invitations to your clients and professional colleagues
Promotion or advertising (independent of chamber-managed promotion)
Serve light refreshments and beverage
Provide music or other entertainment
Provide guests with business collateral, memorabilia, bounce-back coupons, etc.
Offer door prizes or prize drawings

1. Contact information should include business name, contact name, email and phone, business address, business website
2. Type of event– Ribbon Cutting or Business After Hours.
3. Possible event dates
4. Event location, if other than your business address
5. 75 to 100 word press-style invitation– This is your event pitch. Tell readers what’s new, different or happening at your business that makes this event worth attending.
Note: Once your event is scheduled, you may be requested to submit promotional photos and/or a copy of your business logo.

Business After Hours Event
Business After Hours events are an opportunity to show off your business and network with clients and fellow chamber members. Use these events to welcome new staff or management, promote unique products and services, and acquaint the community with your establishment.
Business After Hours events are scheduled the third Wednesday or Thursday of the month. Guests are charged a $10 cover. Please consult with the chamber director if you require an alternate day or time.
What to Expect from the Bandon Chamber
We’ll provide
• invitations to the Bandon Chamber Board of Directors,
• invitations to the Bandon City Counsel and other appropriate elected representative or public officials,
• invitations to local news and entertainment media reps,
• promotion through our print and electronic newsletters, event calendar and Coffee Break advertising,
• email invitations to members with electronic and phone RSVP options,
• RSVP report in advance of the event,
• chamber ambassadors to collect $10 cover* and distribute 2 drink tickets per guest,
• a brief welcome presentation by the chamber director (may include general chamber event news),
• microphone and amplifier– with advance request,
• wine glasses– with advance request,
• guidance for member responsibilities.
*Note: $6 per guest is retained by the chamber to cover event promotion costs; $4 per guest is reimbursed to the host for food and beverage service.
What the Chamber Expects from the Business Host
You’ll provide
• the space for the event*,
• refreshments or appetizers,
• 2 drinks per guest should include beer and/or wine and a non alcoholic beverage option,
• additional beverages available for purchase,
• food and beverage service supplies,
• event staff,
• welcome remarks and/or brief presentation by an owner, manager or board member.
*Note: No other business should take place during the After Hours event. Please consult with the chamber director to request a special event time or location.
